Room Studio

Your pro studio, in your room. Film your camera and record your sound at the same time — a teleprompter floating over the lens, real studio effects on your voice or instrument while you roll. The look you see and the sound you hear is the take you keep.

01 — Overview

Film and record, together

Room Studio captures your camera video and your audio in one pass, with the processed sound baked straight into the video file — so the take you watch back is finished. Read your lines from a teleprompter floating over the lens, run up to two inputs through their own studio effects, and keep an untouched copy of everything. Designed by people who make music, for iPhone and Android.

Films + records together

Camera video and treated audio captured in one pass and muxed into one finished file.

Two inputs, own FX · Pro

Run a vocal and an instrument at once — each with its own source, chain and level.

Teleprompter over the lens

Read while you look into the camera. Move it, resize it, set the speed — it never blocks the shot.

Real studio FX, live

Gate, preamp, EQ, compressor, reverb, delay, de-esser, a guitar amp and more — meters that really move.

Keeps your RAW too

Clean, unprocessed RAW WAV audio saved beside the video, so you always have the original.

Sing or play to a track

Load a backing track, play it while you film, and optionally cut its lead vocal out.

02 — Getting started

The quick version

  1. Allow camera & microphone

The app only uses them on your device while you record — nothing is sent anywhere.

  2. Choose your sound source

Settings (the gear) → Audio → Input source. Leave it on Automatic for the phone mic, or pick your audio interface if one is plugged in.

  3. Load your script

Open the teleprompter, paste or type your words, drag it over the picture, pinch to resize, and set a comfortable scroll speed.

  4. Dial in your sound

Tap an input to open the PRO RACK — start with a preset or nudge a knob. The meters show you what is happening.

  5. Press START RECORDING

Turn on auto-start and the teleprompter begins scrolling the moment you hit record. Your take saves automatically — find it in Takes.

04 — The teleprompter

Read straight down the lens

Move it

Drag it anywhere over the picture.

Resize it

Pinch, or use the window controls, to make the reading area bigger or smaller.

Speed & size

Set scroll speed and font size in Settings → Teleprompter so it's easy to read at arm's length.

Mirror text

Flip the words left-to-right for a glass teleprompter rig.

Start with REC

Turn this on and the script begins scrolling the moment you start recording.

05 — Sound & the PRO RACK

Inputs and effects

Choose an input in Settings → Audio. Automatic uses the built-in mic; if you have an audio interface or USB mic connected you can select it. Two inputs (Pro) let you record, say, a voice and an instrument at once, each with its own separate chain of effects.

The PRO RACK

Tap an effect's faceplate to open it full-size — every knob, fader and switch works live and changes the sound as you turn it. The meters move with your real signal.

Presets

A fast, good-sounding starting point. Start there, then taste to your own ears.

BYPASS ALL

Instantly compare your processed sound against the raw signal.

Headphone monitor

Wired headphones or your interface let you hear yourself as you record. Bluetooth plays back perfectly but adds a small delay — the app warns you when a wireless output is in use.

06 — The FX Marketplace

More units, when you want them

Room Studio ships with a set of effects, and more live in the Marketplace — each one a real studio-style unit with its own faceplate and meters. Browse them from the Marketplace button or in Settings → Store & About. Some units are included, some are add-ons; the app always shows you what's included and what's extra.

07 — Recording, format & takes

How your takes are captured and kept

Resolution & frame rate

Set in Settings → Camera. Free records in full 1080p HD; 4K is a Pro feature on supported devices.

Camera

Front or back, orientation, torch and the camera look — all in Settings → Camera.

Watermark

Free exports carry a small Room Studio mark in the corner; Pro removes it.

Takes

Every recording saves automatically. Open Takes to watch, share or tidy up. With RAW WAV on (Pro), the clean audio is saved beside the video.

08 — Backing tracks

Sing or play over a track

Load an audio file to play while you film — perfect for covers and performance videos. Want to sing or play over a track that already has a lead vocal? Turn on vocal-cut (Pro) and Room Studio pulls the lead out of the backing so your own performance sits on top cleanly.

09 — Free & Pro

What Pro unlocks

Room Studio is free to download and record with. Pro unlocks the full studio:

Two audio inputs

Each with its own effects chain.

VocalSplit & VoxCut

Isolate or remove the voice from a track.

RAW WAV stems

Export the untouched, unprocessed audio.

Record in 4K

Free is full 1080p; Pro adds 4K on supported devices.

The full FX rack

Every unit and every preset.

Unlimited scripts

As many teleprompter scripts as you like.

No watermark

Clean exports, mark-free.

Open the Store inside the app for current Pro options and pricing, and to restore a purchase on a new device.

10 — Tips from the studio

Get the most out of it

Monitor wired

Wireless is great for listening back, but the small delay makes it hard to perform to.

Start from a preset

The presets are honest starting points, not the finish line — then trust your ears.

Use RAW WAV when it matters

The baked-in mix is your finished take; the RAW WAV is your safety net for a later remix.

Place the prompter near the lens

The closer it sits to the camera, the more you look like you're talking to the viewer.
